True Crypt now fully supports VISTA
Saturday, March 31, 2007
True Crypt is ONE truly awesome tool that supports on the fly encryption and decryption. On-the-fly encryption means that data is automatically encrypted or decrypted right before they are loaded or saved, without any user intervention. You don't need to create any separate partitions for encryption, just create a true crypt file from the tool, mount the file as a drive/volume and copy your files to it, the tool will automatically encrypt the file(s). It's way fast and supports all major algorithms.
The beauty of this tool is: You can hide an encrypted volume inside another volume therefore if the outer volume key (say password) is compromised the inner content still remains encrypted.
What more this tool now fully supports Windows Vista (both 32/64-bit editions), who needs Vista's bit-locker now???
Check out some of the screenshots and tutorials. Take care though, as you might erase something if you are not careful.

TiddlyWiki
Am sure you must have come across Wikipedia and you know what "Wiki" means. Well if you have never used TiddlyWiki, I would suggest you to give it a shot.
Wikipedia explains Tiddly Wiki as:
TiddlyWiki is a wiki-modeled client-side single page application written by Jeremy Ruston that is designed to be used as a personal notebook. It is a single self-contained HTML file that includes CSS and JavaScript code. When the user downloads it to their PC, TiddlyWiki can save the entered information by overwriting itself on the user's disk, at the user's request. Following TiddlyWiki conventions, users can make a new entry, called a Tiddler, in their local copy of the TiddlyWiki file and save it for future reference. Existing Tiddlers can also be modified or deleted in the same way.
Another serious WIKI collaboration Platform is TWIKI which is used internally both by SAP and Motorola.
Quote from the TWIKI website:
"TWiki, a flexible, powerful, and easy to use enterprise wiki, enterprise collaboration platform and knowledge management system. It is a Structured Wiki, typically used to run a project development space, a document management system, a knowledge base, or any other groupware tool, on an intranet or on the internet. Web content can be created collaboratively by using just a browser. Users without programming skills can create web applications. Developers can extend the functionality of TWiki with Plugins."

Gozi Trojan
The following is a long read but contains very good analysis of the trojan that had gone undeteced for months. The trojan is only two months old and is capable of stealing SSL data. The author in this article explains how he went undercover and tried buying one of the trojan kit (that was sold for 1000-2000$) via some Russian IRC Channels.
This article would help you analyze the seriousness of the underground trojan culture and why you would want to move to a better anti-virus agent in case if you are using Windows i.e :).

Is GTalk Buggy?
Thursday, March 29, 2007
I am sure there is some problem with Gtalk as Gtalk messenger shows 5 contacts online, at the same time gmail's built-in gtalk shows 8. To find where the problem is, I logged into gtalk via gaim and it also listed the same 8 contacts online. I thought there is some problem with the rooster manager in Gtalk so i logged in again, but found the same results.
Can some one confirm if they too have a similar issue?

Surf off-line using webpacks from webaroo
Using Webaroo web-packs you can surf off-line on mobile phone(s), windows OS. My favorite is the wikipedia web-pack that allows me to surf wikipedia while am not connected to the internet. (Note that wikipedia also allows you to download the entire wiki, but than it's pretty big in size. Using webaroo you can download specific web-packs of your interest).

Global Internet TV
Wednesday, March 7, 2007
What if you are in a distant country and would like to see YOUR local TV channel???
Well don't be fooled and pay for any Internet TV service (such as Super Internet TV etc ... Well Joost would be an exception if it ever becomes a paid service).
Global Internet TV has the most comprehensive list of TV channels around the world. I can't find a single channel that am aware, and is not listed at the portal(4 countries that am aware of). The portal categorize and allows to list TV channel according their genre(s), but contains stream of only those channel which are legal over the internet.
Global Internet TV
Following is the list of websites which contains link to the stream/stream local TV (especially Indian channels). As am not sure of their legality, leave me a comment if you want me to add/remove any such website to/from the list.
