Revolutionary thermal pad for your notebook

Saturday, February 24, 2007

Most of the notebook cooler or chill pads available are made of aluminium, as aluminium is the third best conductor of heat; oddly enough the metal plate can not touch the very base of the notebook as they have rubber grooves in the middle and the side corners. Well thermaltake has finally come up with their new product "iXoft" to answer this

Whats more this chill pad does not require any electricity. Well see it for yourself.

Windows Presentation Foundation and Microsoft

Friday, February 16, 2007

I may or may not be correct on this, but my gut feeling after working on WPF/E based applications is that it would be a bigger hit than Windows Vista. I have always been a big fan of Trolltech's QT framework but WPF/E just blew me inside out (WPF/E plugin is available for both windows and MAC - the day we have a plugin for linux it would change things a lot).

Just install the WPF/E plugin on your browser and checkout some sample applications to see for yourself.

So called Personal Entertainment Gadget(s)

Thursday, February 15, 2007

Those who judge and pay for featureS and not for a fashion accessory with a single revolutionary navigation feature(Cough ** IPOD ** Cough) might want to evaluate the following:

GP2X
Features:
Linux based kernel, Dual core 'ARM920T' processor, plays MPEG 4, XviD, DivX format digital contents up to 720*480, multi codec, jpg album, e-book, firmware upgrade etc
Check out some of the screenshots on the GP2X German website; just click anywhere on the left menu to get a basic idea of what this gadget is capable of

RockBox
Rant:
This is an open source firmware, check out some of the application that revolves around the firmware
pijulius
MisticRiver.

Note that most of the iriver and archos players are capable of playing radio and have tons of other utilities you might want to look at. I would suggest to always buy stuff which has a firmware upgrade feature.

Linux Genuine Advantage

Friday, February 2, 2007
According to an independent study conducted by some scientists, many users of Linux are running non-Genuine versions of their operating system. This puts them at the disadvantage of having their computers work normally, without periodically phoning home unannounced to see if it's OK for their computer to continue functioning. These users are also missing out on the Advantage of paying ongoing licensing fees to ensure their computer keeps operating properly.
